A walk {Part 1 of 3}

This day I thought it was going to rain. And it did. Good thing I brought my umbrella. First thing I was greeted with was a proud red rooster. Right downtown. He was very feisty looking. If a town has free roaming chickens, it is my kind of town.

Then I took a little trip into the old drugstore. I got a little something special for someone a little special. These bottles caught my eye.

“It is with narrow-souled people as with narrow-necked bottles; the less they have in them, the more noise they make in pouring out”

Then I began walking. First up St. George Street where I saw some pretty flowers.

After Fay

We survived. Actually we were quite lucky. Lots of wind damage and flooding. But today we ventured out. Not far. I had an eye appointment, and we ate at the Olive Garden. Less than exciting all around. But I did get a couple of pics before we scurried back home.

The lizard sat on the hood of our truck while I was in TJ Maxx. Kept D occupied while I shopped. I had to take a pic then rescue him before we started the truck. I managed to shuffle him onto a piece of cardboard and then release him on a near by bushy area.

A morning at Mickler's Landing

We finally were able to pull of a beach trip without dumping our water supply early in the game...meaning we stayed longer. It was a hot hot hot day. But the water felt wonderfully cold. The waves knocked me down more than once, much to the amusement of D. He was still laughing as I made my way back to the towel.

I walked down the beach to what I like to call the 'wild' beach. No people.

Frog update

I was finally able to capture a better image of my little watering can frog!

He and I had a horrible experience the other day. I noticed that my daisy needed watering, so I thought I could use this watering can to do it...thinking the frog would stick in the can. As I was watering the daisy, plop, out he came with the water and jumped from the daisy into the yard. I was able to catch him and get him back to the porch. But, before I could get him in the can, he escaped. (He is surprisingly slippery.) He quickly jumped again, and I didn't see where he went. I was upset.

The next day I went out, and there was his little face smiling at me from the watering can nozzle. All is well in my little back porch froggy world.

Outcome? I am now using an inferior, smaller, plastic (did I say smaller?) watering can.

Look at that face!

On my backporch

Well, this was a most laid back weekend. I did get a little shopping in yesterday. Today I am a home body. So far the farthest I have gone is my muggy, humid little back porch.

While on the back porch I took a picture of my newest little friend. He lives in the nozzle of my watering can, with his little eyes peeking out. So friggin' cute. But, the image is a little blurry due to how my lens fogged up. Then when it cleared, he went deep into the watering can. So, this picture literally is a little foggy.

This is my clown daisy. It is getting ready to bloom again. Just the beginning. It is such a great flower!
