Ode to the Scooter {Part 1 of 4}

If anyone has been keeping up (refer to #4), you already know of my scooter love. Well, my dear sweet D has been paying attention. He found, God know's how, this White Sand Mayhem Scooter Rally that we went to on Friday night.

(Before I go any further, if you stick it out to Part 4, there is an old car. Not a huge bonus, but something to look forward to.)

First we had to find the Elbow Room. Hmmm. Elbow Room. So off we set with iPhones in hand. Getting closer to what we felt was the spot, but we didn't know which side of the street. Being a four lane road, we had to make a call. About that time a sweet little green scooter buzzed by us on the left. Using our keen senses, we got in that scooter's lane and followed it to the Elbow Room.

Follow that...

...scooter!

Do I have a scooter. No. Did you have to have a scooter to attend? Apparently not. Although I think we were the only present without said scooter. But, they didn't judge us. No. Far from it. They were happy to talk to us about riding and their scooters. I even got to 'try on' a couple of Buddy's!

Ode to the Scooter {Part 4 of 4}

We spoke quite awhile to Clementine's owner. I can remember the scooter's name, but not her's. I'm so horrible with people's names. She was from New Orleans. She didn't ride her scooter over, but brought it on a carrier. She did tell us that some of the people in her group did ride...it took 7 hours. People came from all over...Houston, Texas to Palm Beach, Florida. It was awesome!!

Gallery Night {Part 1 of 3}

Gallery Night...held only three times a year. I missed the last one, so I thought I should at least attempt to make it to this one. Lots of people and art. Well, it is about art. And one little place served the best, the crispiest, the sweetest little homemade sugar cookies! I know it wasn't about the cookies, but I just was really impressed by them. There was, of course, wine at some galleries. That always makes for a festive night!

Tribute to the Pensacola Beach Sign {Part 1 of 2}

What do I do when D is in school? Besides get in trouble? I grab my camera and go. This time on foot right up the road. I wanted a up close and personal view of the famous Pensacola Beach sign. I went right before sunset. And I was a bit disappointed when I got there and the sign wasn't lit up. So, I wandered into the bushes at the base, took some photos and then settled down on the grass directly in front of the sign. Then, all of a sudden, it was like the heaven's opened up and showered goodness upon me. I heard clicking and creaking like the sign was alive, then I heard buzzing...like a million bees circling overhead...and the sign was lit. Just for me :-)

Since I couldn't decide which one I liked best, I'm putting most of them up. You can decide for yourself.

Destin Pass {Part 1 of 3}

We took off to Fort Walton for the Greek Fest. meh. It was in a convention center. What fun is that? It actually took the fest right out of it. I was slightly disappointed, but I did get a great gyro and a Greek Iced Frappe. (aka Nescafe instant coffee with cream and sugar over ice...which I love!) Here is the only picture I took at the festival...and I use the term loosely.
