It pains me to think of what is happening at this very moment while I type this post. Gallons and gallons of crude oil is being emptied into our beautiful Gulf of Mexico. I can't help but think for how long we will enjoy our sugar white beaches.
I was down in the dumps about this and my friend Barb wrote this to me
"You will get some pics that will help change the world we live in. Get prepared. Clean you lens. Life is not always pretty. Reality is part of life too."
So maybe so. Maybe that is why I take pictures. Life is not always pretty.

Beautifully expressed and the images are the perfect accompaniment to your sentiment. Yes, it is heartbreaking to think about what is happening in the Gulf.
Hang on to those images. Every morning I get up hoping they've capped the break and every morning I feel a little sicker and angrier when I discover it's still spewing oil.I'm trying not to be angry, but the utter devastation looming is hard to accept.
