Flowers from my yard

Yes. It's true. All of these flowers bloomed in my yard this summer. At one time or another. It was a riot of color.

If you read this far, I have a confession. See that cute little bug in the first picture? Well, they are assassin bugs. Generally thought of as a good bug for the garden.

So it was 'live and let live' policy between them and me. Until one day I saw one dragging off one of my caterpillars. Oh. I was enraged. It quickly became a different scenario...'live by the sword, die by the sword'. Any bug that is a danger to the caterpillars had better steer clear from my butterfly garden. They have been warned.
