Mother's Day at the Hilton brunch
I know. I know. Mother's day has come and past. And so has Father's day. Well, Here are some more images from Mother's Day. It was fun and the food was great. The day was pristine.
This first picture was from the decorations inside the Hilton. I loved the whimsical stars just floating about.
"I believe that mankind's destiny lies in the stars." ¸.•*´¨`♥ Neil Gaiman (American Gods) |
These georgeous flowers were on a table. In the hall. Just looking fresh and wonderful.
"C'est le bouquet" ¸.•*´¨`♥ Gregoire Bouillier |
After breakfast we went out past the pool to the ocean. This is the path we took.
"It doesn’t matter where I am, or how alone--I always have such a crowded head." ¸.•*´¨`♥ Charles de Lint (Memory and Dream (Newford, #5) |
"Come, my love, we have oceans to sail." ¸.•*´¨`♥ Saul Williams (Said the Shotgun to the Head) |
"And I'll stand on the ocean until I start sinking." ¸.•*´¨`♥ Bob Dylan |
These two women fascinated me. I almost turned into a stalker...scared that they would turn around and be frightened or perhaps attack me! I was drawn to them because of the closeness I felt between them. In sync. Whispering. Heads together. Examining their treasures found on the beach. I adored their hats and shirts.
"A friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you." ¸.•*´¨`♥ Elbert Hubbard |
Of course I couldn't pass up such a colorful bike shot! These were perfect!!!
"I thought of that while riding my bicycle." ¸.•*´¨`♥ Albert Einstein |
This woman looked like she had not a problem in the world. And at that given moment, I'm sure she didn't.
"The ocean was the best place, of course. That was what she loved most." ¸.•*´¨`♥ Ann Brashares |
Repetition. I'm a sucker for it. It gets me every time. These kayaks lined up in a row called to me.
"Three things in human life are important: the first is to be kind; the second is to be kind; and the third is to be kind." ¸.•*´¨`♥ Henry James |
And the fanciness of these kites were stunning. They added such color to the beach.
"you dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows" ¸.•*´¨`♥ Bob Dylan |
But, perhaps, this is my favorite. I love the general feeling of calmness and solitude. But like a storm just may be brewing. Hmmmm...maybe the calm before the storm.
"EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... where to go...when her soul needs soothing... " ¸.•*´¨`♥ Pamela Redmond Satran |

I love your photos!! I found your blog because I love St. Augustine. I follow your blog because I like to look at Florida through your eyes. Could you tell me what the flags/kites in the photo are called? Thank You
Hi...sorry, but I don't know what they are called. I only saw them on the beach that one time. At first I thought they were something like wind surfing kites, but they weren't attached to anything except for the post in the sand.
And all that beauty threatened by man's greed.
I agree, Susan. It is incredibly sad. There is oil on the beaches . I haven't seen it yet, but I've seen reports. Cleaning crews are out.
