Old and new

It has been awhile since I've posted. There is a reason. The move. I put my camera away and dug in. Now it is pretty much done...boxes packed, moved and unpacked. There are final touches to be done, pictures to be hung, probably things to paint. But, I have my camera out again! Here is the last picture I took from our dock at the condo.

"The soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone."

My first camera outing after the move was to J.W. Renfroe Pecan Company. They had candy. Pretty much that is all I could think about.

"The jelly - the jam and the marmalade, And the cherry-and quince-"preserves" she made!"

I was slow on the snapping, cause I only got a couple that I liked. But it is a start!

Sunrise on the Sound {Part 1 of 3}

We had visitors! So seldom that happens. It was an old friend from Illinois and his girlfriend...Daniel and Nikki. It was so nice to see a familiar face. And they didn't mind being photographed! I tried not to be a nuisance, but I took a couple.

One evening Nikki said she was going to set her alarm to watch the sunrise at our dock. So, the next morning I woke up and saw the sun hadn't come up yet. I hurried up and got dressed so I could go down. D decided he didn't want to miss the show, so he came also. But, guess who didn't show? Yep. Nikki :-)

More of a walk along the beach and a new Farmers' Market!! {Part 1 of 7}

Here are some more pictures of a walk on the beach. I love how warm the water is! And how soothing for the soul the walk is.

Can you tell that I love the hermit crabs? They tickle me beyond belief. They have gatherings (shoots the hermit theory doesn't it?) and can scoot around like crazy. I especially love the ones in the old crusty conch shells that have barnacles. And I covet the ones that have the beautiful shells that would look simply marvelous on my window sill. How does one convince a hermit crab to vacate their shell for another?

These trees apparently have taken a hard hit from past hurricanes and just general weather from the Sound. But they are beautiful in their starkness.

There is a farmers' market on Wednesday evenings! How happy am I? If you have read any of this journal, you know I am delirious. And not only that, but there is also one on Saturday mornings!
