Market Morning

I wanted to talk with one of the vendors at the market about flowers. So I took my camera and did a short walk. It was wonderful. The market has grown so much this year. I'm so happy to see that.

Some of this & that...

Going through Lightroom...and found some pictures that I haven't posted for some reason. So here they are. In no particular order.

Comic and Grace

Comic and grace...that describes pelicans.

I was out taking pictures for photography shoot locations and at one point found myself behind Joe Patti's. What a great place. The pelicans think so too. I could of spent all day there with them.

I just want to tell you what happened to one poor pelican. I noticed a fishing line that moved when a certain pelican moved. Then I saw it was attached somehow to him. So I grabbed the line, not really knowing what to do. He pulled. They are surprisingly strong! During this struggle I saw the line was in his mouth. I assume there was a fishing hook involved.

I looked madly around. I mean what do you do with a pelican on a string? I saw one man by a back door, probably taking a break. I called for him to help. He came, but as he did, the pelican made a huge leap and jumped off the dock into the water. Now I had a pelican on a string, in the water, and a man.

We decide that if we did anything further, we may drown the bird. So I let the line go. The man said that last week he and a buddy of his got a fishing hook out of another pelican. He said that he would keep his eye out for this one and when he gets on the dock again, he will get the hook out.

ATTENTION FISHERMEN!!!!! Please take care of your fishing lines properly. This could of so easily been avoided.

It is our choices that show us what we truly are...

A few random shots from a couple of different markets. One in Pensacola, the other in Seaside.

I have never heard a more eloquent silence

Although I do love photographing the beach, I have a special fondness for the harbor at Joe Patti's. There is a quiet stillness about it. It is forever changing...yet always the same. I can count on pelicans and seagulls. Docked boats. Weathered piers. And Miss Ann.

More Lulu's

I did a post in mid May from our trip to Lulu's, and it took me a bit to get back to the rest of my Lulu's images, but here they are!

If nothing else, Lulu's is colorful. Brilliant sherbert colors everywhere. I was really taken by these beach chairs.

Lulu's

The end of April, we found ourselves at Lulu's, a little resturant in Alabama. We had eaten at her original resturant before she moved it to the current location.

A fun fact about Lulu is she is Jimmy Buffet's little sister. It is fun to look at her memorabilia. And yes, you can get a cheeseburger in paradise there!

Joe Patti's

One of my favorite places to go in P'cola for seafood is Joe Patti's. It is a great place to get fresh seafood. Plus, it has a lovely dock.

Sitting on the dock of the bay...

Oh. How I love that song. Otis Redding for those of you that don't know. And if you don't know, you are really missing out. It is a great song. I'm sad that his career ended shortly after doing that song. As a matter of fact, "(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay" was recorded only three days before Redding's death. I could of loved him for a long, long time.

On to my little Otis tribute. My dock in these photos (except for one...which is the Penascola Beach Pier) is behind Joe Patti's Seafood. It always has that real ocean smell. And is usually quiet. I like walking on it and taking pictures of whatever happens to be there that day.

It all started with a mouse...{Part 2 of 2}

This one was taken last weekend. At the farmer's market downtown. I was about ready to leave when I saw this man and his bird. Standing by a motorcycle that I presume they rode up on. Quite the couple.

After the market, I went to Joe Paddy's. I always love to go there. Besides all the hub bub on the inside, there is the most marvelous dock to the side and around the back. I have more pictures of the dock and the inside that I will post when I get a chance.

To wrap it up this week, here is another kitchen window sill photo. I add and move and generally shift things on that sill daily. Fun.

A glimpse of Joe Paddy's {Part 1 of 2}

Joe Paddy's. A Pensacola icon. If you visit, you must go to buy some of the best seafood around. We always make a point to get all of our seafood there when possible. And when visiting, bring a cooler to take some home with you.
