Military Appreciation Month in Seville

I have had a few other subject oriented posts about the Military Appreciation Month tribute. This is just some other shots from that night...

Marine Forces Reserve Show Band and Brass Band

The main music for the Evenings in Seville for Military Appreciation Week was the Marine Forces Reserve Show Band and Brass Band! I was really surprised. I thought it was going to be really ho-hum. But did they surprise us! Wonderful show. I would go to hear them again.

McGuires Irish Band

Part of the Evenings in Seville for Military Appreciation Month, was the McGuires Irish Band.

Not until this evening did I realize how a bagpipe effects me emotionally. When they began playing Amazing Grace, it brought tears to my eyes. Honest. It was so moving.

A tribute to our service men

I grew up in the service. My father was an Air Force veteran. He served in Viet Nam. I remember it well. I was young and scared. And PROUD.

These images were taken during the Military Appreciation Month ceremony at Evening in Old Seville, Pensacola FL.

Loverly times {Part 1 of 6}

We have taken to the weeknight concerts offered here like fish to water. Tuesdays. Thursdays. And there is talk about a once a month concert on Palafox Pier that we have yet to attend. This particular event was on July 16 and Zydeco Zoo was the band.

We parked where we could, which turned out to be up the street. Walking to Seville Square we passed the Old Christ Church built in 1832.

Eventually we got to the park with chairs, picnic basket and drinks. There was a small ceremony before the band started with some troops from the Naval Base. The sailors marched with such precision. It was beautiful.
