New Orleans 2011: house numbers
So much has happened over Spring Break 2011. We had company down for a few days. Then D and I took a trip over to New Orleans. As a result, with no surprise to me...or probably you, I have many pictures. I have sorted. Deleted. Sorted again. I'm kind of spinning my wheels, not knowing where to begin. So I've finally decided to start a bit out of order and do our New Orleans trip, only because it was so much fun. And I miss it already. I thought a few of the House Numbers of New Orleans that made the cut would be a good starting point.
I have a couple of 1109 Decatur Street...because that is Coop's Place. And we went there a couple of times. Their Crawfish Étouffée is mouth watering, and I had my first Mint Julep there. Memories of both bring joy and happiness. How do I describe the Crawfish Étouffé? It has a flavor all it's own. I know...crawfish! But don't let that stop you. Ask for a sample. You will bless the day you did. And about that Mint Julep. Well, it makes me want to get a big floppy hat and sit on the veranda in the sweltering heat with little beads of perspiration on my forehead, fanning my face and sipping my Mint Julep...just letting the world pass by. Velvet. Velvet passing down your throat into warmth. I really need another. Soon. (Just let it be known. I'm paying extra attention to my little 'mint farm' out my back door.)

Polar Bear Plunge, Pensacola 01/01/11
Every year there is a New Year's Day tradition on Pensacola Beach...the Polar Bear Plunge. We went to watch this year. Did not take the plunge, but enjoyed watching.
