Amelia Island

Between bouts of sickness and the red tide, we took a day trip to Amelia Island. It was a great day even though I felt really weak. The day was overcast and cool. It was nice to get out and see something different.

The trip involved a trip on a ferry. Normally I would of gotten out of the car to take pictures. Yesterday I just sat and shot from inside the Tahoe for the ferry ride.

There was a little park entrance we saw that allowed the vehicles to go on the beach. So we did. You had to have 4-wheel drive...we were good. Slipped into off road mode, and off we went. As we rounded a bend we were greeted with this.

Along the beach front road were several beach access areas. This picture was taken when we stopped at one and walked out to the beach.
Rows of boardwalks

Soon we entered the town of St. Mary. It was such a picturesque little town.

Jacksonville Beach

Nikki is here for a visit, so we went out for brunch today. The place we picked was a little beach cafe that serves a great 'greasy spoon' type breakfast. But in the process, we started to talk about Beachside, another cafe nearby. They have awesome fish. The fish won out.

Before dining, we took a side trip to the beach to check out the red tide situation. It seems that it was subsided in that area. I took a few pictures (of course) and played with a new program I have, Photoshop. Here are the results of both.

Is it too much? Or just right? Please say just right. It was a PIMA to figure out. And I had to work in Picasa2 for final touches because when I uploaded the Photoshop images to Blogger, as beautiful as they looked on my computer, became dark. I need to figure out why. It should just be done in Photoshop. Don't ya think?
